Chris Cohen (born 12 November 1981) is a singer/songwriter comedian. He was born in Epsom, Surrey, England.
Fame on the Internet
In November 2007, Chris wrote and performed the Steve McClaren Tribute Song. The song was featured by YouTube. Within a nine week period, Cohen had written a further 14 songs, all of which were received well by the YouTube viewership. His Youtube channel has generated over [1] 2,000,000 video views since its launch.[citation needed]
Radio and TV performances
Cohen signed a deal to be represented by Jo Wander Management in April 2008.
Since then, Cohen featured regularly appeared on the Eamonn Holmes show on Radio Five Live, alongside Kevin Day and Mark Webster at www.fanbanta.com and performed in front of footballing legends such as Chris Kamara, Paul Walsh and John Salako at the Pigalle Club in Piccadilly.
Cohen's debut album "Off the Woodwork" was released in February 2008.
He became a champion of BBC Three programme Upstaged in February, 2008, performing for 18 hours and made the number 1 spot on the top musical moments of Upstaged.
He performed alongside Jo Brand at the annual Committed to Comedy fundraiser at the Fairfield Halls in front of over 1500 people, helping to raise money for East Surrey Cancer research.
Chris was also asked by the BBC and Comic Relief to be the finish line MC and presenter for the Sport Relief Mile in Bristol and performed alongside Kelly Cates on Setanta Sports News.
He also released another song, In The UK, summing up the attitudes towards Britain today.
Chris presented a new football series for footbo.com, engaging with fans and bringing his unique style of comedy to proceedings.
His YouTube channel has been updated with new parodies of existing TV shows such as Neighbours, Bargain Hunt and The Hills and all have been received very favourably by the internet masses. Cult comedy website funny or die, started by Will Ferrell, loved them so much, they were featured throughout the website's front page in December '08.
Chris helped to raise money for the Lily Foundation in 2009 at the Comedy Store alongside other comedians including Russell Howard, Sean Lock, Kevin Day and Marcus Brigstocke.
Cohen also joined Noel Edmonds for the first series of Noel's HQ which saw him perform original comedy songs about the current state of bureaucracy in the UK.
Chris now writes, presents and edits a weekly feature for ESPN's Talk of the Terrace, hosted by Nat Coombs and Kelly Cates.
Cohen also presents regular features for Chelsea TV.
Chris is also a regular guest on Angela and Friends on Sky One over the World Cup giving his alternative guide to the goings on in South Africa.
He also shared his comedic views on Channel 4's 100 Greatest World Cup Moments.
